With shiny polyester threads and a nice weight, the classic custom embroidery will translate your design or logo nicely, and your uniforms will look great.

PVC PATCHES
The best choice for your tactical gear, soft rubber will resist any abuse, and its vibrant colors will outlive your article of clothing. No threads that get stuck everywhere.

- Borders: N/A
- Backings: Iron-on, Hook and Loop, Adhesive
- Special Colors: Glow in the Dark.
- Samples: 1 week
- Production Time: 3 weeks
- Setup Fee: $65 and up

WOVEN PATCHES
Great for designs with very small details. Matte thread colors give them a special look and feel. No jump-stitching so your small text will look clean and legible.
- Minimum Order: 100 Woven.

- Special Colors: None.
- Samples: 2-5 days

How to Make Patches for Your Hat
There are plenty of techniques to make your own patch. The most common one is embroidering directly to a piece of fabric.
Otherwise, in the case you require a larger quantity it will be better and easier for you to work directly with a US based wholesale patch maker like Sienna Pacific.
For those ones in the quest for a reliable, high quality supplier, here it is our step by step guide.
- Design your patch
First of all you need to have your patch designed (Download our Patch Design Template). Send your logo or what you want it to look like.
Ideally customers will send a vectorized design, made in Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, Inkscape (free open source alternative) or using a web app like Vectr or Vecteezy.
However, you can also send any type of image files explaining how you want your logo to be made. Anyhow, it is best to learn first the following design options.
- Select your material
Each type of technique and material allow different options. Only embroidered, woven, leather and printed patches allow iron on backing. While PVC allows layers and square (2D) or round (3D) edges woven and embroidery don’t. (Learn more about PVC vs Embroidered Patches)
- Determine the size that better suits your needs
The size will depend on the place of your garment you want it to be. Fill free to order them the size you want from 0.5″ to 17″. However, 2.5″ Is Great For Hats and/or snapbacks!
- Know your color options according to the type of patch
We will match your design colors to the color threads available. For Soft rubber patches we work with any type of the PMS color palette. Nevertheless, only a printed process (offset printing and sublimation) support real gradients.
- Select your backing
As the best way for attaching patches is by sewing them on, it is quite logic to use plain backing. Although it is important for you to know that peel and stick and iron-on backing can easy the process of placing them before sewing. Hook and Loop hat patches are a great option for those who need to frequently remove their patch (as the military or airsoft teams).

The Best Size for a patch hat is anywhere between 2.25″-3″. Bear in min that the height of most caps is a max of 2.5″, and about 3.5″ width, so anything larger than that will be a problem.

–Patch Sizes for Tactical Hats:
Usually the Loop Area on Hats is about the size of a standard American Flag Patch, 3″x2.5″. We recommend our customers to stick with this as the maximum size for your patch.
