How Custom Jet Tags Are Made
Each tag starts with your art. We size the design for the tag length you want — usually five to six inches — and prep it for embroidery, woven, printed polyester, or PVC. Fabric tags get stitched borders or heat-cut edges. PVC gets molded color with a clean outline. Hardware goes on last: split ring, carabiner, or clasp. Production time is about two weeks after proof approval. If your design has tiny text or gradients, we’ll guide you toward the style that keeps it readable.
A clear digital proof comes first so you see the final layout before we build it.
Design tips for readable jet tags
Short text wins. Think simple block fonts and strong contrast: red/white, black/yellow, navy/white.
Keep phrases punchy; long sentences shrink fast on a six-inch tag. If you need art on both sides, go double-sided: logo on one, text on the other. For tiny details or gradients, printed polyester handles fine lines better than heavy stitch. For hard weather use, PVC flight tags hold color and wipe clean.

What “Remove Before Flight” really means
Before takeoff, aircraft wear bright red safety streamers that remind crews to remove protective pins and covers. The message is simple: pull this before you fly. The look became iconic, and now you see the same style on flight tags and key tags for cars, gear, and merch. The appeal is part aviation history, part bold graphic — easy to spot, fun to carry.
It’s a nod to the cockpit, even if your keys live in a garage.
What people use jet tags for?
More than keychains. Teams use them for identity, shops for giveaways, streamers for lightweight merch, pilots for zipper pulls and bags. They’re great for quick ID on camera bags, pelican cases, and tool kits. Because they’re tough and slim, they travel — from car meets to trade shows to weekend flights.
Small item, long mileage for your logo.
American flag jet tags: when they make sense
Flag tags pop when you need a simple, strong symbol. Keep colors accurate and the layout clean: flag on one side, unit or club name on the other. For outdoor use or rough gear, PVC keeps edges tidy and color bright; for a classic feel, embroidered fabric lands the texture people expect.
If you’re unsure on proportions or thread match, we’ll proof it first.
