This year, UN-Water is dedicating World Water Day 2010 to the theme of water quality, reflecting its importance alongside quantity of the resource in water management. World Water Day 2010 activities will aim to communicate messages on water quality, ecosystems and human well- being.

The importance of using the water responsibly is highlighted on this day, where all around the world people celebrate by educating others on the use of water.

Here in San Diego, the city hosted a 5k Walk for Water was inspired by journeys of up to six miles that some women and children make on foot every day to fetch water for their families. The participants carried water jugs to give them a “symbolic and educational experience” and all net proceeds will go towards the building of a water system benefitting a water-stressed village in Tanzania.

National Noodle Month 2010

Do You Love Pasta? We do. And according to the American Pasta Report, published by the National Pasta Association, most of the residents from the West and Northeast do. According to that study as many as one in five residents in those areas have pasta meals three or more times per week.

We just found out that March is the National Noodle Month in the US, and as true pasta lovers, We are going to use that as an inspiration to create some designs that will suit our products.

It is not the same designing for lapel pins, stickers, patches, clothing labels or luggage tags : each one has its own standards and limitations and certainly its numerous benefits: inexpensive, versatile, long lasting value, its own set of fans and collectors and they will mainly brand your company or organization wherever they go.

The mission statement of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation is: To reduce morbidity, mortality, and disability from cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases through education, prevention, rehabilitation, research, and aggressive disease management.

The third week of march is the National Pulmonary Rehabilitation Week, and some hospitals use it to educate patients and the community in general about lung health.

Breathing is one of those activities that people don’t pay much attention to…. unless you can’t breathe.  Thousands of Americans suffer from pulmonary deficiencies, like emphysema, bronchitis and asthma, as well as cystic fibrosis, lung cancer, and others. Depending on the degree of the condition, some of these patients go thru pulmonary rehabilitation, which mainly focuses in educating patients and teaching them how improve their breathing quality using exercises.

This year, the week of March 14 – 21, 2010, Medical Clinics, Pulmonary Centers, Hospitals, and individual caregivers will be spreading Education & Awareness for National Pulmonary Rehabilitation Week. There will also be some Health Fairs going on.

Some of these hospitals provide activities for their patients and the community in general like quizzes, promotional items with related and inspirational messages, Raffles, free screening, prizes, educational session about nutrition and exercises, how to quit smoking and other activities.

I am starting a new section in our blog about the different holidays and celebrations, and how we can create a custom product for you, specially for that particular occasion.

Today is St Patrick’s Day and I am loving it!

I never really felt excited about the holidays, change of seasons and other celebrations, and always looked at them as a way to sell more of everything. Now I see everything through the eyes of my boy and the excitement of the new and re-discovered how fun they can be! So I decided to finally start my series of blog posts about special days and how by creating themed products, we can increase the reach our companies have and just make life and business a bit more fun.

I just put these designs together and I want to know your opinion so I can do better next time.

We decided it was time to showcase more of our embroidered patches, this time the Embroidered Patch Badges. We have created a new page for them, and although there are only 2 samples right now, we will be updating them.

Badge patches are mainly used by:

• Police Departments
• Security Companies

These embroidered patches usually have a star

or eagle-shield shape, and the county’s or company’s logo in the middle; mostly laser-cut and about 3-5 inches in size.

As we provide custom embroidered patches to be worn by members of the military, police and fire departments, as well as motorcycle clubs, a lot of times we hear the need of our customers of having Velcro backing to their unit patches.

Velcro patches allow you to attach them and removing the easily, which proves useful:

• No sewing required
• If you remove the patch from your uniform before washing it, it will last longer (Don’t forget to turn your uniform inside out to prevent the Velcro to attach to other things)
• You can swap the patches easily

Originally, the Velcro patches were used for the Armed Forces so in the event of a soldier being captured, they could remove them from their uniform (name and rank) as not to pass this information to your enemy.

Some Police Department use Reflective Police Patches with Velcro, We will be posting photos of some of our reflective police patches soon…

The Army introduced Velcro patches in the ACU Uniforms, therefore the need of many military units to add Velcro to their uniform patches.
