Clothing Labels for Quality Clothing
Clothing labels are the first thing someone will look at when buying clothing, so its very clear that your clothing label speaks of the quality of your garment whether its in the US or the rest of the world.
Clothing labels can be made of various styles, sizes and designs. There are basically two categories garment labels can be classified: Printed and Woven.
Printed labels are usually made of a flexible and durable satin acetate with a shiny finish. You can also print labels onto nylon, cotton and polyester.
Woven labels are often made out of fabrics like taffeta, damask and satin. These labels are usually rectangular shaped (although you can also have them laser cut to any shape) and sized at 1 inch by 2 inches or 1/2 inch by 1 inch. The size of the clothing label usually depends on the size of the final garment.
Clothing labels must be placed such that they are easily visible when placed out for sales. If for any reason the label cannot be visible either due to external packing or other reasons there should be a special tag on the cover that gives the care instructions and also the fabric composition. These clothing tags should be attached to the garments in such a way that they do not come off, fade off or become illegible when the garment can still be used.
Product care labels are usually required to show how to maintain the clothing and also the country of origin of the fabrics used. The care instructions on the label should be applicable to the whole product. If the clothing contains a number of fabrics, then the most delicate piece of fabric should be used as a reference to write the care of the garment as a whole.
These garment care labels generally mention the cleaning temperature of the garment, if it can be machine washed or has to be hand washed or if only dry cleaning is required. Whether the garment can be ironed or not and the temperature is also another thing that is mentioned on the label. In case of combination of fabrics again you have to consider the most delicate fabric, for example if a fabric can be cold washed only and the other fabric can be machine washed then you can put a dry clean only label on the whole garment.
The labeling is usually done by a person who is experienced in maintaining and manufacturing fabric. If you are not too experienced yourself you would want to wash the garment yourself and test which method of cleaning is the best suited. A label on your garment must also mention the country of origin of the fabrics as the prices of the garment vary depending on the country of origin. Also the size of the garment should be mentioned so that the customer knows which garment is suited for them.
All these things mentioned on your clothing label speak volumes about you and the quality of your product. If a customer is satisfied with your product he is defiantly going to come back looking for more garment s with your clothing label on it.
